Thing is, I KNOW the reason I'll sometimes not do it is because I just can't...I don't like giving myself good things, so "indulging" in exercise can feel like something I don't deserve. I know, it's messed up - but it's true. The more I learn about these ridiculous thought patterns going on in my brain, the more I find the motivation to overcome them. And, sometimes it's just about listening to myself. Maybe after working 24/7 all week I need some actual REST and going to the gym just isn't going to help me there.
