Type “BE REAL” in the comments below if you feel this! ❤️ While it’s true that generally, focusing on the bright side of things or looking at a glass “half-full” mentality can help you cope with life better, some situations are not what we might call "positive". It is physically (and mentally) IMPOSSIBLE for us to be happy ALL THE TIME. Sometimes I get random waves of sadness and I don’t even know why. Like I just get a sudden urge to cry for no logical reason, and that usually happens when I’m tired or if I’ve been holding back my emotions for too long. Existential dread? Maybe! What i’ve learnt from this is just to let it all out, all emotions, instead of trying to control or suppress them. Sometimes all I need is a good cry in order to feel better afterwards. Let's not be afraid to experience all the feelings as they come, they are what make us ALIVE, what make us HUMAN after all. Letting yourself be vulnerable takes a lot of strength and it is an essential part of the healing process. You have to feel your feelings in order to address them. NO TOXIC POSITIVITY! IT’S 🆗 NOT TO BE 🆗!!!
